The present invention provides an automated system for inserting data cards into mailing forms. Each mailing form is provided with two card- receiving apertures spaced apart less than the diagonal dimension of a card, and a designation of the number of cards to be inserted. The forms advance in succession through a read station and into an insert station. Cards are transported in succession past a read station at which data is read for comparison with the data of the form positioned in the insert station. The insert station includes means to bend a card about a diagonal to insert two corners into the apertures, the card then being released so as to unflex. Should the data comparison be unsatisfactory, insertion does not take place. Forms with inserted cards are stacked in a hopper. |
