<p>A vehicle tyre surface is profiled in such a way that it will not spray water outwardly when moving over rain-wet or flooded roads. This is achieved by vulcanising a circumferential "anti-splash", wedge-shaped, rim about the outside perimeter of the tyre whose edge (crest) is in contact with the road surfaces thus sealing most of the water between it and the tyre off the outside and preventing the water from being squeezed out in the direction of the outer edge of the vehicle.</p> |
