The connecting part (30), which is designed as a wall element of the container (10), has a lug which projects radially outwards and extends over at least part of the circumference of the container. This connecting part (30) is used to connect an upper container part (9), a lower container part (12) and the supporting element (20) to one another. The supporting element (20) has window-like openings (22) which allow the bottom container wall (12) and the connecting weld to be inspected from outside. Connecting parts (30, 430) of this kind are used, in particular, with containers (10) in the chemical industry. <IMAGE>
