PURPOSE:To decrease the group delay time difference between Stokes light, anti-Stokes light and stimulating light and to efficiently generate a induction 4 photon mixing effect by setting the stimulating light wavelength at the zero dispersion wavelength of an optical fiber or near the same in the pulse operation of the induction 4 photon mixing in the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:The stimulating light pulse is set at the zero dispersion wavelength of the optical fiber 12 or near the same in the process of the induction 4 photon mixing in the optical fiber 12 consisting of the stimulating light pulse, the Stokes light pulse and the anti-Stokes light pulse by making the stimulating light pulse incident to the optical fiber 12. The Stokes light pulse is induced in the negative group speed dispersion area and the anti-Stokes light pulse is generated in the positive group speed dispersion area. The difference in the group speed between the stimulating light pulse, the Stokes light pulse and the anti-Stokes light pulse is then small and, therefore, an interaction arises over a long distance and the Stokes light pulse is greatly amplified to the light soliton. The light soliton is efficiently generated by the low stimulating input in this way. |
