Seismic exploration method - summing reflection signals for simulating strata response to wave energy

Seismic exploration method, based on spherical seismic waves, produces reflection signals in many receiver positions which are spaced over an area of large dimension relative to the seismic wavelength. These signals are summed up to forma signal for the source position which simulates the reflection response of the strata to the seismic wave energy. The enegy has a continuous wave front over a dimension which is large relative to the seismic wavelength. Arrangement achieves the advantages of multiple coverage stacking without the necessity for a common depth point stacking or a normal exit correction. The mass of data to the processed is reduced, and time and costs for seismic exploration are saved.
