Voltage transformer whose core and coil are completely encapsulated in a casting resin to make them air-and damp-proof, has pressure relief ducts leading from near the coil to close to the surface of the encapsulating casting, where they are sealed against air and humidity at a pre-determined breaking point. A contact plate which is partly embedded in the encapsulating casting serves as rated safety limit component at the pre-determined breaking point.
