Toroidal rotor with magnetic bearing - has steel ring supporting permanent magnets and containing epoxy resin filled with carbon fibres

The toroidal rotor has a magnetic bearing and permanent magnets. The stator's (5) windings (17-19, 31) and/or the faces of the rotor (1) opposite them and/or the permanent magnets (8,9,30) have a spherical or polygonal shape. The rotor contains a soft-magnetic ring (2) on which the magnets are arranged and around which a fibrous material (7) is wound. The ring is made of steel and has a U-shaped profile between whose arms the fibrous materialis inserted. The fibrous material comprises epoxy resin filled with carbon fibres.
