In a circuit for automatic dynamic compression or expansion, are provided an adjustable amplifier on the signal path and a second adjustable amplifier on an annex path for obtaining a control tension. The amplification factor of the amplifier located on the signal path is higher than the amplification factor of the other amplifier by a constant factor, e.g. "1". It follows that the line "compression-expansion" is not discontinuous at the OdB point and is continuous with respect to its differential quotient.
