PURPOSE:To permit the wide-range control of the strip shape by driving at least one or more stand by changing separately the circumferential speeds of the upper and lower operating rolls. CONSTITUTION:In a rolling mill having at least one or more stand, a method of driving the final stand, for example, is chosen so as to set separately the speeds of the upper and lower operating rolls 1 and 2 by means of the speed setting device 5 and 6, and the shape of strip is controlled by taking advantage of the change in the rolling load resulting from the circumferential speed difference entailed. This constitution enables one to control the shape of strip in a wider range than the conventional roll bending method, etc.. |
