<p>PURPOSE:To increase the relative speed between a stationary magnetic head and a magnetic medium by arranging a helical projection for pushing the medium onto the head and by moving the contacting portions between the projection and the head in the widthwise direction of the medium. CONSTITUTION:At the position facing a stationary magnetic head 4 through a magnetic medium 1, a cylindrical rotor 5 is arraged in parallel with the head 4. The rotor 5 is formedon on its circumference with a helical projection 6. This projection pushes the portion of the medium 1 between itself and the head 4 to the head 4 until the fine surface of the medium 1 abouts against the head 4. The projection 6 also responds to the rotations of the rotor 5 to move the fine contacting portion of the medium 1 with the head 4 in the widthwise direction of the medium 1. Thus, it is possible to produce a magnetic track which is inclined with respect to the longitudinal direction of the medium 1.</p> |
