The planting machine is for plants grown in small pots, having one or more scoops delivering these pots into the ground, and a conveyor delivering to the scoops. The conveyor is intermittently driven, and when driven can be indexed for a distance equal to the length of a pot. The drive can be coupled to that propelling the machine, having a freewheel (31) controlled by an eccentric driven from the propulsion mechanism. The conveyor (35) and scoop (40) can be pivot-mounted about the drive shaft of the former.
