The tibio-femoral prosthesis intended to replace the joint surfaces of the tibio-femoral joint, comprises a tibial element (15) intended to be fixed to the upper end of the tibia (47), and a femoral element (13) intended to be fixed to the lower end of the femur (17). The femoral element (13) comprises a lateral condyle and a median condyle used to replace the joint surfaces of the lateral natural condyle (23) and of the median natural condyle (25) of the femur (17). The tibial element (15) comprises a lateral plate and a median plate which are intended to replace the joint surfaces of the natural lateral plate (53) and the natural median plate (55) of the tibia (47). The prosthesis allows the joint to rotate freely without causing pain and without damaging the crural ligament. Furthermore, the prosthesis maintains perfect alignment between the lateral surface and the median surface of articulation of the knee while requiring only a small extraction of bone. <IMAGE>
