PURPOSE:To obtain superior reproduction outputs, sensitivity characteristics, abrasion resistance, etc. by so setting a pair of cores that the crystal axes of respective monocrystalline ferrites face in mutual proximity in the direction towerd the sliding face recording media. CONSTITUTION:Respective butt faces 13a, 13b of a pair of butt cores 12a, 12b constituting a magnetic head 11 are polished and formed on the 111 face of monocrystalline ferrite, the sliding faces 14a, 14b with recording media likewise on the 211 face and magnetic path faces 15a, 15b likewise on the 110 face. The cores 12a, 12b are so combined that their crystal axes <110> draw mutually proximate nock (herringbone)patterns in the direction toward the sliding faces 14a, 14b from core back side and the respective crystal axes <110> are inclined at an angle alpha( 55 deg.) to the centerline l. As a result the magnetic path faces of a wide area become the main face 110 and the butt faces the 111 face, but fabrication becomes easier without receiving working dostortions and therefore superior reproduction outputs, sensitivity characteristics, etc. in addition to high abrasion resistance, may be obtained. |
