摘要 PURPOSE:To enable high-efficiency operation control by detecting the generation state of the total vibration of the multiple cylinder internal combustion engine by a total vibration state detecting means and controlling the maximum value of a knocking criterion of each cylinder according to the detection result. CONSTITUTION:The total vibration state detecting means C3 detects the generation state of the total vibration of the multiple cylinder internal combustion engine EG from the detection result of a vibration detecting means C1. Namely, even the vibration state of the whole engine EG is also detected in parallel to vibration decision making operation by the cylinders wherein the detection result of a means 1 is processed based upon a crank angle. Then a criterion control means C4 controls the maximum values of knocking criteria by the cylinders which are set by a knocking decision means according to the generation state of the total vibration state detected by the means C3. Namely, the generation state of the total vibration of the engine EG is used as basic information for control over the maximum values of knocking criteria to compensate variance in knocking generation frequency among the cylinders.
