Agitator grinder in cylindrical vessel - has sets of agitator elements in pairs without axial play fitted on vertical shaft

The grinder consists of a vertical cylindrical grinding vessel (10) fitted with a flange (12) on its upper part matching with a counter flange (14) carrying a cover (16). Between the two flanges a cone-shaped screen (18) is fitted separating the grinder chamber (20) from the discharge space (22). The shaft (36) penetrating the cover (16) has a disc (38) fitted immediately beneath the cover surface acting as a seal against leakage of ground material through a penetration (34). The shaft (36) extends over the entire height of the vessel and is fitted with a number of agitator elements (40) mounted in pairs without axial play between the individual elements of any pair and also without axial overlapping of surfaces of any element of the pair.
