A tow bar 11, for a water ski towline, comprises a disengageable coupling device 12 for a body belt 14 for the skier, which device, while held engaged by the skier, secures to the bar a towing connection to the belt, whereby the towing forces from the line are transmitted to the belt and the skier's body. The device may comprise a coupling lever 15 which projects through the bar 11 and is engageable by a conically shaped finger 15' of rectangular cross section in a conically shaped opening 19' of complementary cross section in a link 19 of adjustable strap 13. The finger and opening may engage each other with non-locking inclination, so that the link will slip off the finger when the coupling lever is not held in the engaged position. The lever may be spring-loaded. The bar may be composed of two shells within which the lever and finger are completely enclosed. <IMAGE> |
