The pipe connection is partic for automative vehicle exhaust systems, and comprises pipe ends, one overlapping the other, the overlapping end having a conically widened formation. Flanges and screws are provided to press the pipe ends together in a gas-tight manner, and the flange fitted to the conically widened part exerts a pressure upon it. The conically widened part is only on the end section (4) of the overlap (2) of the pipe end, and the overlap (2) engages over an end section of the cylindrical insert pipe. The other flange (8) provided presses a wedge ring (7) in the gap (6) of the conically widened part (4).
