PROTECTIVE AND DECORATIVE MOLDING

A protective and decorative moulding (1) for attachment to structures such as the sides of automobiles has an elongated channel-shaped member (2) of plastics material, and a flexible foam (16) which fills and extends beyond the inner channel (14) of the channel- shaped member and which carries on a surface (18) in the portion (15) extending from the inner channel (14) means (20) such as a pressure sensitive adhesive tape or coating for bonding the moulding to an automobile body. The portion (15) obviates the need for a separate cushioning layer. The foam is preferably generated in situ and the inner surface of member (2) may be uneven to facilitate adhesion of the foam thereto.
