The automatic lubricator is for a shaft bearing with an oil bath. An endless delivery belt is driven by the shaft or a friction wheel which delivers the oil to the lubricating points. The delivery belt (12) runs in a channel which has holes for the inlet and outlet of oil. This channel is formed as a groove (13) in a housing with a cover. The groove has a U-shaped, and in the changeover area has a recess for oil inlet. The outlet area is widened by catchment chambers (15, 16) each for one direction of rotatin.
