The thermostatic mixing tap for hot and cold water incorporates a mixing chamber with hot and cold water inlets. The inlets are controlled by a slide valve. A bimetal strip is retained in an outflow chamber connected to the mixing chamber, on one side in a pivot holder. The strip free end is connected to the slide valve. The pivot holder (16) pivots on a pin (15) and the bimetal strip (17) is U-shaped. The slide valve is of the rotary type (9) with control edges (11, 12) for the inflow holes (6, 7) running parallel to the rotary axis (8).
