A rail guide for a vehicle seat, comprising a stationary floor rail 1 and a seat rail 2 which is parallel to and displaceable along the floor rail. Each rail includes a J-shaped portion, the two J-shaped portions interengaging with each other. A locking member 4 having a tooth is carried by the slide rail swivellably at right angles to the direction of displacement of the seat rail. The shorter arm of the J-shaped portion of the floor rail is provided with a row of recesses and the two arms of the J-shaped portion of the seat rail, which are parallel to the said shorter arm, are provided each with a recess for the tooth. The locking member is biassed by a spring into a locked position in which the tooth passes through three aligned recesses in the said three arms, thereby preventing movement of the seat rail relative to the floor rail. The tooth may be withdrawn to an unlocked position by a hand lever. <IMAGE> |
