The tyre build-up machine has a belt building drum and a carcass drum is coaxial with the latter. The transfer ring is for transferring the belt from the belt building drum to the carcass. The shaft of the belt building drum is hollow and a shaft passes through it which can be displaced axially in direction of the belt-building drum and carries, at that the nearest the carcass drum, a core positioner. This adapted to be moved through an aperture in the transfer ring.
