PURPOSE:For reducing the stress applied onto a water pipe and a fin, to prevent the heat deformation thereof by providing back-stays on the water pipe walls constructing a cooler. CONSTITUTION:When the cooler formed of water-pipe walls 9 to have a rectangular section makes thermal expansion due to the temperature of the fluid therein, said walls 9 make linear expansion toward the end portion thereof starting with the corner portion A of back-stays 6. At this time, said stays 6 and said walls 9 are slid on the flanges 12 held between the hook portions 11 provided on metal supports 10 and the outer side faces of water pipe 8. Thus, said walls 9 make linear expansion starting with said corner portions A, and the whole structure of said cooler makes cubical expansionin the direction of the diagonal line of the corner portions A-A of said stay 6. The transfer of said stays 6 that is made at this time is abosobed by flexible membrs 14. Thus, the flatness of said water pipe walls 9 is compensated completely, no stress is applied on said water pipe 8 or the fins or the connection portion thereof, and no crack takes place thereto. |
