<p>PURPOSE:To make a supply of intake air quantity fully capable into the cylinder both for at low and high revolution of the engine, by providing an intake air chamber, intake pipe, intake manifold, and an on-off valve at upstream side of the branch path in the intake air chamber. CONSTITUTION:With an on-off valve 6 closed, air in an intake air chamber 3 is carried out to an intake manifold 4 through an intake pipe 5. With a suitable length of pipes selected for the intake pipe 5 and the intake manifold 4, an intake air can be fully supplied to within the cylinder by utilizing the suction pulsation phenomenon at a low speed operation of the engine. With a rotational speed of the engine 1 going up, when becoming not capable of utilizing the suction pulsation phenomenon, if made open the on-off valve 6, the intake air flows into the intake manifold 4 from the valve port without passing through the intake pipe 5 as shown by a broken line arrow mark in the drawing.</p> |
