A coating composition contains an epoxy resin, an alkylated melamine- formaldehyde resin, an acid catalyst, a block copolymer of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide and water. The composition is applied to a clean metal surface e.g. ferrous or tin by any conventional technique and cured to provide a protective, paint-receptive coating. It is especially useful for blackplate or tin- plated cans. |
