<p>Device for protection of a duct emptying into a chamber consists of bar placed across the duct opening, the ends of which are engaged in two lodgements arranged in the two opposite faces of the duct wall. Specifically, the bar and the lodgements are curved in the form of an arc of a circle, with the convex side turned to face the chamber. They have the same centre of curvature. One of the lodgements at least is open at both sides of the duct wall so that the bar can be put into place from outside the duct. The duct is provided with a method for blocking the bar after it has been put in place, by closing the lodgements from the outside of the wall. The device is used in rotary cement clinkering furnaces to protect the convecting ducts between the furnace and the clinker cooling satellite chambers, by preventing passage of large lumps of clinker.</p> |
