The anti-theft switch is esp. for motor vehicles. The switch can be concealed behind any flux permeable panel such that only the owner knows its position. Operation by the owner is by use of a small permanent magnetic key. The switch consists of a flexible sealed switch reed (5) with a rectangular permanent magnet (6) mounted such that normally the reed position is unaffected. The switch is besed on a plastics case and is fixed to a suitable surface by glueing. The key has two magnets, one (3) serving to locate with that built into the switch and the other (2) causing the switch to close.
