The adaptor for fitting to a rifle or suitable weapon enables tear gas or smoke shells or flare shells to be fixed without preparing the weapon especially. The adaptor has a tube for fitting into the barrel of the weapon, forming a stop chamber. This has a conical outer end. Inside this is supported a hollow conical plug (3) so that the two sloping faces have a gap between. The outer parallel end holds the launching tube (4). The smaller diameter end of the conical plug has a small hole through it communicating with a larger diameter chamber followed by a funnel shaped part.
