A material which consists of two firmly connected layers (13, 14) of different magnetic permeability is provided as the original material. In this case, a first layer (13), which consists of virtually non-magnetic material and is integral, functions as a carrier board for the second layer (14) which consists of magnetic material. The latter is separated by gaps (5, 6) in the region of the rotor opening, as a result of which two stator halves (3, 4) are produced which are magnetically separated from one another. This stator construction obviates adjustment of the two stator halves (3, 4) and, in addition, highly cost-effective production of the stator is possible. <IMAGE>
