<p>Polyurethane foam is produced in a framing tunnel having as its bottom the upper portion of an endless conveyor belt, on which is a web of paper. The floor temperature in an upstream reaction area AC of the tunnel is held constant, e.g. at 41.5 DEG C. In a second downstream consolidation area CB of the tunnel the temperature is held constant at a higher value, e.g. 51.5 DEG C. In a drying area e.g. S1, S2, S3 outside the tunnel the temperature of the bottom of the block is raised notably, e.g. to 120 DEG C, and thereafter the paper web is removed with a thin film of foam adhering thereto. The product is a block with no requirement to trim dense matter from its bottom. <IMAGE></p> |
