Adjustable reclining chair with extending leg rest - incorporates parallelogram lever system swivel connected to three-section lever system

The chair is adjusted by a two-part lever system with one part in the form of a parallelogram with frame fitment (5) actuating guide rod (13) for the leg rest gearing and a swivel lever (14) on the backrest side as well as part of the rear leg rest guide rod (7). This first gearing part is connected for swivel movement to a second three-section part which is connected on one side to the seat fitment (6, 6') and on the other to the actuating guide rod (13) by means of two swivel bearing points (15, 16). A locking mechanism (23, 24) is provided between the two gearing parts and acts in the seat position to prevent movement of the second part whilst in the reclining position the backrest can move into the bed position.
