<p>The rudder raising and lowering gear, partic. for sailing boats, is for rudders with the blade (1) pivoted (2) inside a housing (4). The tiller (5) is held by removable pivot pins (6) in axial slots (3) in that housing. A rigid pin-jointed link (7) runs from a point (A) on the blade above its pivot when lowered to one (C) on the tiller underside, in line with the blade leading edge. A lever (8) acting on a pin (B) halfway along this link has a fixed fulcrum (D) below the link-tiller connection. From its other end a line (9) runs, via a fair-lead (11), along the tiller underside to an adjustable elastic end-piece (10).</p> |
