<p>A graphical record of the physical details of a coil spring obtained by pressing a recording paper against the spring. The spring(s) is located on two guide rolls (3, 4) that are aligned with each other. The spring is rolled against a contact roller with recording paper located in between. From the impression the pitch, diameter, and angle of the spring coils can be readily measured. The alignment of the two guide rolls is ensured by a spigot (8) fitting into a bore (9).</p> |
