The pressure relieve valve is guided in a valve carrier. This relieving valve slides longitudinally. This arrangement is used in injection pump for air compressing internal combustion engines. The valve design ensures that the valve carrier cannot be assembled in wrong position. The bore on the chamfer (15) opposite the valve seat (14) has an aperture which interrupts the total width of this chamfer (15). This chamfer is precision machined and the design ensures that it can be inspected optically and also for technical functioning. A fitter will immediately recognise the attitude in which the valve carrier is to be placed into the pump element. On wrong assembly the opening will leak fuel and demonstrate its wrong attitude.
