<p>The petrol tank filling cap for a vehicle has a central core (1) which fits inside the externally threaded part (6) with a central hole (11) housing a locking cylinder (12). This has an eccentric pin (15) projecting downwards from the bottom, to act against a slider (10) which can lock into grooves (22) around the inside of the threaded cylinder (6). The slider, which has a slot (19) to receive the pin (15), has a resilient finger (20, 26) each end. One finger (20) has a wedge shaped nose (21) with one face (24) sloping so that it can be forced inwards by the faces at the ends of the grooves (22). The other finger (26) is not compressed when the cap is locked.</p> |
