PURPOSE:To enhance whiteness degree, to improve printability, and to improve preservation of a recording image on a heat sensitive recording medium provided with a protective layer by incorporating specific amount of talc having specific mean particle size in a recording layer and/or in the protective layer provided on the recording layer. CONSTITUTION:Specific talc is contained in a recording layer and/or in a protective layer provided on the recording layer. The used talc has 3.0mum or less of mean particle size and more desirably 0.5-2mum. The talc of 5-80wt.% to the total solid content of coating solution is contained in the recording layer and/or the talc of 20-90wt.% to the total solid content of the coating solution is contained in the protective layer on the recording layer. Then, whiteness degree is enhanced, and printability is improved. A manufacturing method of such fine talc includes, for example, a jet pulverizing method utilizing high energy fluid. When the talc having 90% or more of the whiteness degree is employed, the whiteness degree of the medium is further enhanced. |
