PURPOSE:To degrade the tone quality, etc., of a PCM signal at the time of digital dubbing by fixing the bit of a lowest-order digit in each bit pattern of the PCM signal inputted in the recording circuit or reproducing circuit of the PCM signal to a constant value. CONSTITUTION:The regenerative signal of a magnetic tape A outputted from a reproducing head 1 is amplified by a reproducing amplifier 2, waveform- equalized by an equalizer 3, demodulated to the PCM signal by a demodulating circuit 4, and converted into an analog signal by a D/A converter 11. The PCM signal demodulated by the demodulating circuit 4 is sent to an LSB fixing circuit 6 to be made into a signal whose lowest-order digit is fixed, and sent to a digital output circuit 9 and a light output circuit 10. Thus, the tone quality of the regenerative signal can be degraded at the time of the digital dubbing. |
