PURPOSE:To let high segment judgement ability be provided no matter in any conveying position are paper leaves on conveying path and provide the device of simple construction and high economy by disposing printing paper leaf detectors in the front of the conveying direction of conveying position detectors. CONSTITUTION:A printing paper leaf D is sent in the conveying direction arrow on a conveying path 1. The conveying position detectors 11 thru 1n, 21 thru 2n disposed in plurality on the right and left perpendicularly to the conveying direction on the path 1 detect the numbers of the detectors 11 thru 1n, 21 thru 2n on the right and left which are not shielded by the paper leaf D when the paper leaf D shields an object detector 31 or 41. If the bright numbers on the left and right side are let to be NL, NR, judgement of the left, center and closer to the right is made from the relations of NL < NG, NL = NR, NL > NR by comparing the magnitudes of both. Detectors 51 thru 53 of a pattern G are provided and the gates of 51 thru 53 are selectively opened depending upon the magnitude judgement of NL, NR. The signals therefrom are used and processed. Even if the conveying positions are not limited, the position information of the paper leaves is accurately detected and accurate segment judgement may be performed. |
