Each support 25 rests on the floor of the mine, and is pivotably bolted to a guide bar 27. The cradle is provided with two projecting plates such as 20 each terminating in a guide rail, such as 21. The rails are arranged at different levels, the higher one preventing tipping of the coal-cutter and the lower one 21 acting to fix the container of a chain conveyor.
