<p>Insulation panel comprises a layer of resin-bonded mineral fibres covered on one or both faces with a layer of porous material not made of mineral fibres. Pref. the covering layer is of non-mineral fibres matted by entanglement, e.g. needling. The use of superficial layers (typically 3-5 mm thick) made of 'rhovyl' fibres treated with a flame retardant and secured to the mineral fibre layer by metal clips or a clamping frame is claimed. Suitable for covering slabs of glass or mineral (asbestos) fibres without reducing the thermal or acoustic insulation properties or the fire resistance of the panels to inhibit loss of harmful or irritant fibres.</p> |
