In the case of an electrical power circuit breaker which has at least one main switching point (4) and one auxiliary switching point (1) which is allocated to the main switching point (4) and has a series-connected closing resistor, the auxiliary switching point (1) has a switching pin (2) which closes and opens, respectively, shortly before the main switching point (4) in each case during switching on and switching off. The switching pin (2) is displaceably supported in a guide (5) and has an annular groove at the lower end. A locking device engages in this annular groove, by means of which locking device the switching pin (2) can be locked in a pushed-forward position in the switched-off state, and in a different position in the switched-on state. <IMAGE>
