<p>The machine operates using a horizontal shearing action generated by the vertical convergence of prim. supports, lateral displacement being effected by vertically sinusoidal guide columns (3). The workpiece (14) is mounted on a former (9) above the lower cutter (8) and a bottom plate (7) supported by spring pistons (13). A top plate (5) descends vertically to effect the cut, incorporating corporating a spring-loaded buffer (6) and providing cantilever support for two upper cutters (12). The mounting of the latter permits limited lateral movement, the guides (3) entering doubly tapered holes (24, 25) obtaining tight knifed edges contact zones.</p> |
