Pipe:submerged habitat sealing membrane - with U=shaped sheet forming cuff on pipe and with sliding fastener for inside edges

A membrane for sealing the gap between a submerged habitat and a pipe, e.g. for welding the pipe, comprises a U-shaped flexible gas-tight sheet which can be attached by its outside to the habitat, and a sliding fastener to sealingly close the sheet inside edges to form a cuff surrounding the pipe end and sealingly engaging it. The membrane is pref. secured by rivets or bolts to a habitat and by a clamp around the cuff to a pipe. The sheet is e.g. of PVC and the fastener has a water-tightness of 10 psi and lateral stress resistance of 200 psi. The clamp is e.g. a circlip.
