Small component automatic riveting machine - has three tubes for gravity feed of rivets and workpieces into path of punch and counter punch

The automatic machine makes rivetted connections between sets of two components (1, 2) with preformed holes, having three tubes (6, 7, 5) for the individual gravity feeding of components and rivets (3). The tube comprise slideways and are either vertical or at a nominal inclination, leading parts one by one into a rivetting zone (Z) in the co-axial converging paths of a punch (8) and a counterpunch (9). The punch and counterpunch are both guided axially by passages in a support block (4). A rib (9a) on the counter punch engages a slot in the rivet head, the support (4) also positioning the rivet for driving. The counterpunch is driven by a slide (14) and a rocker (17), the punch being driven by a jack (12) through a coupling plate (11).
