This invention relates to 4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-thieno[2,3-c]- and [3,2-c]-pyridines having the formulae: <IMAGE> (I) and +tr <IMAGE> (II) in which R1 is selected from hydrogen and halogen; R2 is selected from hydrogen and hydroxy; R3 and R4, which may be the same or different, are each selected from hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl, phenylalkyl having 1-6 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety, and phenyl-C1-6alkyl substituted on the phenyl nucleus with at least a substituent selected from halogen, C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 alkoxy, hydroxy, nitro, cyano and trifluoromethyl; and their acid addition salts. |
