A circuit for generating a sawtoothed current having trace and retrace intervals from a direct voltage source through a coil divided into two, was comprised of a device supplying a control signal to output amplifier and switching elements which connect the divided coil(L1,L2) in series during trace interval and to a gap of the terminal (1,2) of direct voltage source respectively during retrace interval.
