Steam ironing press, of the type having mobile lower and upper plates and capable of being pressed against each other with clothing or linen placed between them to be ironed, the upper plate being provided with a direct evaporating steam generating device. The press is characterized, in particular, by the steam generator built into the upper plate which includes a metal cased electric resistor (56) located at least approximately on a plane parallel to the sole (55) and arranged in contact with an evaporation surface (58) that separates an upper evaporation cavity (24) from a lower, steam distribution cavity (61); and by the lower, steam distribution cavity (61) which is limited by the sole (55) of the upper plate, the sole having holes (57) for letting steam pass through, and by the steam generator being provided with a nozzle (40) for projecting water on at least one part of the evaporation surface (58) heated by the metal cased electric resistor (56). |
