Exhaust gas heat exchanger for central heating unit - forms assembly of build-up construction with by=passed exhaust pipe and control valve

The heat exchanger heats a liquid by means of exhaust gas, the latter being controlled by a throttle in the exhaust pipe, while the exhaust connections are at opposite ends. The heat exchanger (1) forms a bypass for the exhaust pipe (2), both forming a complete assembly. This is of built-up construction, comprising two end covers (3, 4), a double sleeve with heat exchanger (1) inside and exhaust pipe (2). A multi-way valve (5) in one of the end covers controls the flow of exhaust gas both through the pipe and the bypass to the heat exchanger.
