The bearing support is for a machine with a vertically rotating shaft and involves an axial bearing and a radial bearing to take up the forces emanating from the shaft, which are transmittable via a support body to the base. The axial bearing is in an oil container. The support body (4) formed as a hollow ring shape with triangular cross section is fixed to the base (19) via a ring flange (18). On other ring flanges (16, 17) which likewise each are located on one side of the triangular cross section axial and radial forces are absorbed and the oil tank (3) is supported by at least the ring flange which takes the axial forces (16).
