The constructional component is of the load-bearing, hollow chamber type, and is particularly used in horizontal installations such as bridges, ceilings, marine vessels, aircraft, road vehicles, tunnels, and the like. A typical example in bridge construction involves an upper road cover (1) duly reinforced, and a road bearing layer (2) below it. Below this is a trapezoidal cross-sectional sheet (3) with upwardly open, widened conical parts of light concrete or plastic foam. Four sided tension tubes (4) are inserted in the trapezoidal upwardly closed hollow spaces, and inside the tubes are pressure spindles (5) and rings (6). At the ends of the spindles are screws (8a) for pressure application.
